二人の観音様

東京最古のお寺(1400年創建)浅草寺には、二人の観音様がいらっしゃいます。

一人は、昔漁師二人が隅田川で救って助けた観音様。もう一人は、比叡山延暦寺からの贈り物の観音様。この二人が祀られています。

観音様の役割は『新しいことに挑戦しようとする不安な人に対して後ろについて背中を押して下さる』施無畏(せむい)とは、観音様の別称。

そして驚くことに、もし地震や災害が起きた場合、浅草寺の中に観音様専用のエレベーターがあり、観音様を守る為に地下に沈められるのです。

Two Kannon-sama

There are two Kannon-sama(Buddhist deity of mercy) in the oldest temple in Tokyo called Sensoji in Asakusa(established 1400years ago). One was found by two fishermen in Sumida river long time ago and the other one was sent from Hoeizanenryakuji in Shiga prefecture as a gift. Kannon-sama's role is to cheer up a person who is taking a chance on something new and challenging. This is surprising that there is an elevator for  Kannon-sama in case of earthquake and disaster to protect them. They will be down to the basement for safety.
